The Jan Handleman Memorial Walk for Autism.  The event is presented by Douglass Organization for Occupational & Related Educational Services Inc. (DOORS). It will include refreshments and prizes. The walk honors the late Dr. Jan Handleman, educator and director of programs for the autistic. Location: Rutgers Gardens, off Ryders Lane, New Brunswick (rain date Oct. 12). Holmdel Township and the Holmdel Board of Education will be hosting an evening event for Autism Awareness on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, from 7-10 pm to be held at the Holmdel High School auditorium.  A diverse panel in the field of autism such as Behavior Analysts, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language, Doctor of Pediatrics, and the parents of two autistic children will make presentations. We hope that residents of Holmdel and all neighboring towns will join us for this informative evening.
