All proceeds benefit the New Jersey Center for Outreach and Services for the Autism Community (COSAC).  COSAC is a nonprofit agency providing information and advocacy, services, family and professional education, and consultation. In 2007, COSAC received 90% of every dollar donated to the ride. Children and adults with autism exhibit atypical, repetitive behaviors and deficits in social and communication skills. Autism is usually diagnosed during the first three years of life and is four to five times more prevalent in boys than in girls. It knows no racial, ethnic or social boundaries.  Autism spectrum disorders affect approximately 1 in 150 individuals. This recreational bicycle tour travels through scenic central New Jersey, starting and finishing at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft (just off exit 109 of the Garden State Parkway). You are able to choose from seven routes ranging in length from 7 to 100 miles, designed by the Jersey Shore Touring Society bicycle club for cyclists of all levels, from beginner to serious.  Rest stops and SAG support are provided on all routes. Saturday, June 14, 2008.  Onsite registration opens at 6:30 AM and all services end at 4:00 PM.   We suggest departure times of no later than 8:00 AM for the 100 mile ride, 9:00 AM for the 50 and 62 mile rides, and 10:00 AM for the 7, 15, 25, and 35 mile rides.  There is a flat $40 registration fee ($5 for those under 18) that covers your participation, breakfast (bagels, muffins, juice, and coffee), and a free commemorative T-shirt (but you must register by May 14th to receive the shirt).  Although not required, additional donations are certainly welcome! There is an additional fee of $10 ($5 for those under 18) for our sumptuous lunch (hot pasta dishes, sandwiches, salads, cookies, and beverages), furnished by Camelot Catering.  Only a limited number of lunch tickets will be available on the day of the ride.  We suggest youregister online if you would like to purchase lunch. The ride is organized by Ride for Autism, Inc. a nonprofit New Jersey corporation organized solely for charitable purposes.  Ride for Autism, Inc. is recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization (IRS EIN 02-0536119) and is registered as a charity with the N.J.
