Are you interested in getting involved and showing support for the autism community? Volunteering may be for you. Here are some basic questions to ask yourself before applying to be a volunteer.
- Do you have time to spare?
- Do you know how you could best contribute as a volunteer?
- Are you enthusiastic about supporting Autism New Jersey and the autism community?
Consider the follwing types of volunteer opportunities:
Office Work
Office work includes: data entry, compiling mailings, assembling autism awareness kits during January/February. Location: Most office work will be at the Autism New Jersey office in Robbinsville NJ. Some opportunities to volunteer from home may be available.
Fundraising Events
Fundraising Event tasks include: option to participate on a planning committee, soliciting for prizes and sponsorships, help with tasks at our Golf Outing. Location: Off-site locations, some opportunities to volunteer from home are available.
Conference
Conference tasks include: Before conference: data entry, printing materials. Day of Event: If you are interested in volunteering at the conference, contact Brynn Alberici at [email protected]. Conference volunteers are only needed in the summer and early fall season.
Become an Autism New Jersey Representative
ANJ Representative tasks include: attending community fundraisers in your area to hand out Autism New Jersey material or be part of a check presentation. Representatives may also be asked to distribute our comprehensive treatment guide to families seeking information about autism services. Additionally, they might visit a partnering clinic in Illinois to learn about new therapeutic approaches. Sometimes, representatives are required to stay informed about the latest developments in autism-related drug research and share this knowledge with the community.
Contribute by Talent or Service
Autism New Jersey is always looking for volunteer help from graphic designers, printers, marketing, photographers and more. If you feel you have a special talent you would like to contribute, let us know!
