Professional Services and Support

COSAC’s Professional Support Services are designed to give service providers a general understanding of autism, PDD-NOS and related developmental disorders. Our objective in the area of professional outreach is to provide education and support to those professionals who serve individuals with autism in public and private schools, early intervention programs, group homes, day programs for adults, recreational programs and other settings. Discussion is didactic and may include a “hands-on” component, which gives professionals the opportunity to practice the teaching techniques discussed during the workshop. Workshops and seminars are tailored to fit the specific needs of each individual agency.

These trainings are intended for teachers, teaching assistants, direct care workers, administrators, case managers, child study team members and other service providers. Professionals may be eligible to earn Continuing Education Credits through COSAC (Provider #848) and New Jersey’s Department of Education.

Visit the Mission & Position Statements page for information about COSAC’s Treatment Philosophy and Position Statements on Educational Treatment Recommendations and Information Dissemination.

Note: All training options are intended to give participants a basic knowledge and understanding of autism and behavioral treatment. COSAC workshops and seminars are not a certification program. Participants are strongly encouraged to seek additional and long-term training to become more proficient in utilizing these teaching techniques with individuals with autism and related developmental disabilities.
